The Stage version of RKO’s classic dance musical Top Hat is currently packing out theatres and earning rave reviews from critics and audiences alike; but the Aldwych Theatre wasn’t the only place to see Jerry Travers and Dale Tremont last week as we recreated some of the shows most famous dance routines at Madame Tussauds for a corporate event.
Our duo of West End performers created a dazzling tribute to the hit musical (itself a dazzling tribute to the RKO film) with dancers taking on the iconic roles made famous by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Performing in Madame Tussauds' World Stage room amongst celebrities and public figures from the last century, the pair brought an extra dash of glitz and glamour to a venue with no shortage of it.
But it wasn’t all Top Hat themed entertainment – guests were also treated to performances from pianist Helen, who played background music during dinner and The Counterfeit Tenors who went undercover as waiting staff before outing themselves as professionally trained opera singers in an ever popular 'singing waiters' show.
