Top 5: Unique Function Bands for Your Event

May 24, 2016

Let’s be honest, you’re not always looking for background music at a corporate event. Sometimes you are and we have some fabulous jazz bands for just that query, but when you’re wanting to create more of a party than an event, it’s best to seek out the finest music for corporate events you can find. Of course, it isn’t just about the instruments and the way they’re played, but the whole image that comes with the band. You want to have fun and you want your band to be having fun as well. With that in mind, here are some unique function bands whom will ensure that the music for your event is both awesome and memorable long into the future!

The Massive Violins

As the name suggests, the violins that the Massive Violins play are absolutely huge! And they all play them vertically! With a bow! What’s that all about? Comprising of seven cellists with a brilliant sense of humour, The Massive Violins are the ultimate slice of corporate entertainment for hire, with promo videos that have to be seen to be believed (no, we aren’t sure about the ending to that one either). They’re great fun and will ensure that you keep coming back to the dance floor for more! Naturally they can also play a background set but with humour this good, why would you want them to?

Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners

What do you get when you combine colourful costumes, a brass band, amazing facial hair and club hits of the early 90s? The correct answer is the brilliant function band, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners. There aren’t many people in the corporate music world that look like they’ve just stepped off the set of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, but then Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners aren’t really any old band. Providing toe-tapping instrumental music that will have everybody on their feet and clapping along, they are a brilliant choice for the summer’s events!

Shirt Tail Stompers

There are some acts out there that are named by entertainment agencies to make them sound more appealing to the private and corporate events world. Other times, bands are renamed due to crossover with another act having a similar name. Neither of these problems affect the rambunctious and all round entertaining Shirt Tail Stompers, a group of smartly dressed musicians who play raucous, barnstorming music to their heart’s content. Oh and they have a crowdsurfing double bassist too. Yep, you read that right. Who wouldn’t want to see that live?!

The Ceilidh Liberation Front

Sounding a lot like they’ve just stepped out of the world of Monty Python (People’s Front of Judea, anyone?), the Ceilidh Liberation Front are a scene-stealing troupe, claiming to be the most colourful and most radical ceilidh band around! We certainly wouldn’t argue with because… Well, just look at the pictures! If you’re looking to hire a ceilidh band then you can’t go wrong with these endlessly entertaining musicians.

The Mute Antz

We don’t really feel the need to point out what makes the Mute Antz unique, as it’s probably quite obvious from the photo above. Created for the Durham Brass Festival, they are one of the most intriguing ‘off the wall’ acts we have on our entertainment roster, the costumes worn by band members are brilliant and will liven any private party or event. Fortunately for you, they aren’t entirely mute either; we’ll speak to them to ensure that your event goes without a hitch!
