To welcome some high-profile Swedish clients, leading Law Firm Clifford Chance threw a drinks reception with a Nordic Midsummer theme. Making full use of the breathtaking views from the 30th floor of their office, guests were treated to drinks and cocktails from a catering team flown over from Sweden especially for the event.
To complement this Swedish theme, we supplied two musical acts to provide background music to fit the Nordic theme of the event. Up first were traditional folk ensemble The Martinsson Trio whose combination of fiddles and accordion set the scene perfectly for the afternoon.
Next on the bill were Sunniva Duo whose use of the lesser seen musical instrument, The Nyckelharpa, proved to be a talking point among guests who were treated to everything from Swedish folk and classical music to some authentic schnapps drinking songs. The Nyckelharpa (roughly translated as 'Key Harp') is a hurdy gurdy-like instrument that is played with keys attached to the strings, you can take a listen to the instrument in action in our videos from the event below.
