The Most Popular Event Themes

November 20, 2018

Popular event themes come and go in any given year with football related events being hugely popular during the summer and Game of Thrones proving to be popular as a premiere or finale nears. There are always the more popular event themes though, the ones that are popular every year and we thought we’d give you a rundown of the top 5.

Circus

circus theme has always been popular because it just makes sense! If you want to host an event that includes acrobats, aerial silk artists and clowns then making it circus themed is a no brainer because each and every act will perfectly fit the theme. Over the past year, the circus theme has morphed into The Greatest Showman theme and we see no signs of that abating anytime soon. With people requesting song and dance numbers, flashmobs and absolutely anything to make you think of the film, this is the greatest show in the events world right now!

Alice in Wonderland

The Alice in Wonderland event theme is one of the most prevalent across the industry with many costume studios dedicating an entire section to this most popular of books! Interestingly some clients don’t opt for Alice herself but instead go for the White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts or Mad Hatter. The best bit? Entertainment acts are often willing to dress up as these characters to bring joy to all!

Best of British

Hugely popular for corporate events, and especially popular with international clients, is the Best of British theme, which ordinarily celebrates the positive impact that Great Britain has had on the world. From the Beatles in the 1960s through to the Royal Family and even Mr. Bean,  there are many ways that one can go when it comes to the Best of British theme. Normally it all starts with a lovely historic venue and from there come the lookalikes, sound-alikes and absolutely anything to do with the Union Jack!

Futuristic

When it comes to events where speaking is booked, we have noticed an increase in clients looking for people who can talk about technology and AI. Even if one is not looking for speakers, the futuristic theme is still hugely popular with many opting for acts that feature LEDs, entertainment acts like Edible Mist Orbs and the Mash Machine and of course, a futuristic DJ or spaceman. It’s certainly a fun one!

Christmas

Well, obviously. During October and November, we are always snowed under (sorry!) with Christmas bookings for December. DJs are the fastest acts to get booked up with the earlier Fridays and Saturdays often the hardest dates to fill, whilst magicians quickly get booked up as well. Who doesn’t love a little magic at Christmas?! So if you love these acts and are looking to book one for your Christmas party next month then we strongly urge you to get in touch ASAP!
