Stop what you’re doing and allow yourself a couple of minutes to cast your thoughts back in time, way back to February 15th 1990. Do you remember where you were? Perhaps not, but you certainly remember quickly becoming addicted to what is now often known as The Great Gameshow To Ever Appear On TV™. Yes, that’s right. It was the premiere date of The Crystal Maze on Channel 4.
So take a moment to yourself and enjoy this brief look back at the show that added 'Mummsy' to the local lexicon.
The video below will go some way to helping you ease into your Monday morning with a bit of laughter. It’s fair to say that common sense wasn’t often to be found within the walls of the various zones and this clip embodies all that was wonderful about the programme; a despairing Richard O’Brien attempting to offer advice, teammates wondering just why they had chosen Lorraine for a physical game and a deserved lock-in.
Yes, there’s something magical about watching somebody stumble across a revolving log, flail about in water and fail to hook a cage on a stick. And what about Richard, the hapless contestant who couldn’t quite understand the instruction to, ‘Press U3’? Never mind, he tried his best. It’s just a shame that his best turned out to be... Well, this:
Still, there’s something exciting about solving puzzles as a team, isn’t there? Working together and feeling like you’ve achieved something. If you fancy doing something similar – and we sure do - then why not have a go at our CSI or Escape the Curlew Room team-building experiences? Both can be brought to your venue and set-up for an immersive and enjoyable experience. And don’t worry if you don’t excel; you can’t be any worse than Richard or Lorraine.
It should be noted that if you do fail to Escape the Curlew Room, you won't be packed up and transported to the next booked venue against your will. Of course it is best for you to get out yourselves, but everybody will be allowed to leave at the end of the day.
