The Blind Tigers at BAFTA’s Great Gatsby Screening

May 30, 2013

The 20s have roared back into fashion thanks to the recent release of Baz Luhnmann’s glitzy retelling of The Great Gatsby. Never ones to miss out on a trend, we offered up our ideas for Great Gatsby Themed Entertainment last week and then wouldn’t you know it, one of them featured in a Gatsby themed event shortly thereafter.

Vintage Jazz enthusiasts and bona fide dreamboats The Blind Tigers took to the stage at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly to entertain guests before their screening of the star studded F. Scott Fitzgerald adaptation. The venue’s art deco interior and 200 + seat theatre made it the obvious choice to showcase the movie and the band slotted in nicely amongst the array of period props and paraphernalia that were used to dress the venue.

Immaculately dressed in their usual era-appropriate costumes, the trio – made up of Bass, Banjo and Saxophone – gave guests a taste of the music of the era while they enjoyed drinks and canapés from the venue’s catering team. There are more pictures from the event on our Facebook and Pinterest pages so head over and take a look.
