We were thrilled to entertain guests at the brand-new Boulevard Theatre on Tuesday night. Sternberg Clarke showcases always strive to put on an incredible show for guests and we certainly achieved that aim last night with a full house being treated to the best in music, dance and circus entertainment.
Rap Around were the first act that guests were able to enjoy as they arrived at this lovely venue in Soho. As attendees enjoyed a drink, they were able to take in a unique blend of rap and a cappella vocals, singing along in advance of the main show. A fabulously entertaining trio, we expect big things from this fab act and loved seeing them on the theatre's stage as they instigated a Britney singalong!
String Fever were on fine form! Delivering their signature musical comedy experience, the quartet have just returned from a US tour and delivered a funny and frenetic show that everybody could enjoy! At one point having four members perform on just one instrument, they were an absolute delight with their Bolero proving a particular highlight.
Fresh from their success on BBC One’s The Greatest Dancer, Frobacks delivered a wonderful performance. An electrifying troupe of dancers, this is a charismatic act that is suitable for all sorts of events. Personality-driven and sure to raise a smile, the choreography was a huge hit last night and the crowd at the Boulevard Theatre loved it.
Drag act Velma Celli brought the house down with her amazing persona, referring to Frobacks as 'her four future husbands'. Bringing a wicked sense of humour to the stage alongside a superb voice, it’s no surprise that she is billed as ‘The UK’s Queen of vocal drag.’ Her cabaret performance was great fun and guests were undoubtedly clamouring for more after her tributes to Shakira and Cher.
A brand-new act on the bill, Vio-Glo provided an illuminated sensation! Using cutting-edge technology and a multitude of LEDs, electric violinist Sally was on exceptional form as she delivered a medley of pop and dance tunes that took us on a dazzling musical journey. Seeing our logo on her costume was a fabulous surprise.
When you are in the West End, it’s always lovely to have a bonafide West End star take to the stage! Marisha Wallace is a top vocalist who is set to appear as Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray at the London Coliseum from 23rd April. We were overjoyed to be able to have Marisha with us last night and we were all blown away by her powerful performance! She even earned a deserved standing ovation!
''Sexy bendy people' according to Velma, Klodi & Yann are an acrobalance duo that showed off their strength and poise upon our stage. A graceful act that had jaws dropping to the floor, they offered dynamic lifts amidst an intimate performance. Set to a stunning soundtrack, Klodi & Yann were intense and passionate, and captivated the room.
Able to perform both with and without his band, Joe Stilgoe is an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter who has had sell out runs at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s in Soho. Performing a host of different tunes chosen by the audience (from Humpty Dumpty to Smack My Bitch Up via the EastEnders theme tune!), Joe was on top form and received a rapturous reception as he tickled the ivories and delivered wondrous performance to round out the showcase.
We do so love a Sternberg Clarke showcase! We are grateful to the Boulevard Theatre for offering us a stunning space in which to offer our entertainment as well as the performers themselves. It was a lovely evening and we cannot wait for the next one!
