Did you know that there is an absolutely massive venue for entertainment located in the heart of central London, just a stone’s throw from Shaftesbury Avenue and Regent Street? The Zedel Brasserie is a an absolutely gorgeous location and we thought it made sense to utilise their Crazy Coqs cabaret area for another classic Sternberg Clarke showcase! Click on for more info on the evening and beautiful photos to boot!
The first act of the evening was the brand new all-female acoustic string trio She Wants To Move. Part of the showcase’s appeal was the chance to name the band on the night and lo, She Wants To Move proved to be most popular! Comprising of vocal harmonies, saxophone and acoustic guitar, this was a superb first gig for the ladies and we think they are destined to be hugely popular throughout the rest of 2019. Welcoming guests into the venue, they then performed at select tables to much applause.
As the show began, hilarious musical comedy duo Bounder & Cad were revealed to be hosting and provided a couple of funny songs along the way. Performing and presenting in their own unique style, they were on fab form before departing the stage to allow brand new magic act Get Lucky to steal the limelight.
Comprising two superb magicians, Nigel and Martyn, the audience were asked to help out with a few brain games that had to be seen to be believed. Not only did showcase guests manage to guess how many sweets were in a (rather large!) jar, they also managed to guess one of the magicians birthdays to huge applause! We were absolutely stunned from our vantage point at the back of the room and it’s fair to say that from the reaction in the venue, those at the front were blown away too. Mentalism and magic really is a great way to get guests involved at events!
Britain’s Got Talent star Ben Langley was next up performing a quick fire set that combined his love of music with a hilarious ability to mishear songs. Showing what he hears via cue cards, the crowd were in fits of laughter and from words heard after his act, they were desperate for him to continue. A true entertainer, Ben Langley is a performer you won’t want to miss.
The final act of the evening was the always impressive Jack Pack, a four-piece vocal group that continue to impress. Running through a set of classic swing tracks including New York, New York, they brought the showcase to a wonderful, uplifting close. If you are looking to book after-dinner entertainment, it doesn’t get much better than Jack Pack.
