What sort of entertainment would you provide in order to turn the catacombs of a 17th century cathedral into a glittering, tucked away oasis? How would you help transform the atmosphere of a room from the macabre to the enchanting? How do you create serendipity when it's already expected?
Worry not reader, because here at Sternberg Clarke that's exactly the kind of challenge we love dealing with – so for a secret garden party event held in the crypt of St Paul's Cathedral, we called upon the charming trad jazz rhythms of The Blind Tigers along with Oliver, our nimble-fingered silhoutte cut out artist to entertain guests at this summer showcase.
After enjoying a variety of summer-infused cocktails and canapés in the courtyard, The Blind Tigers treated guests to their mix of soft jazz and folk to as they wandered through the converted crypt.
They provided perfect background music for the secret garden inspired event and helped to create a breezy, outdoors feel even within the underground confines of the 300 year old cathedral.
Nimble-fingered Oliver proved there were some surprises to be found in the secret garden and enchanted the party-goers by cutting out individual silhouttes to take home as souvenirs.
Surrounded by the soft jazz melodies of The Blind Tigers and Oliver's wandering entertainment, this secret garden showcase went down an absolute treat with guests who would have found it hard to believe that the crypt underneath St Paul's Cathedral could be transformed into such a vibrant oasis.
Oh, and we’re also proud to announce that we are now an accredited supplier at St Paul's Cathedral, so hopefully we’ll be seeing a lot more of the iconic London landmark in the coming months.
