Wandering Hands, Neb and Dino Perform at RIBA's Spring Showcase
April 26, 2012
Say what you want about architects, they know how to make buildings... and nowhere is that more evident than the home of the Royal Institute of British Architects (or RIBA) which was host to the event industry's best and brightest for their 'Spring Showcase' Event. The stunning Art Deco venue opened its doors to guests with the promise of drinks, entertainment and guided tours of the building to welcome in the spring and showcase the venue as an events space for corporate and private functions.
On hand to entertain guests were strolling magician Neb and cocktail pianist Dino who was there to greet partygoers as they came up the venue's grand staircase. Guests were treated to a fantastic array of canapés from in house caterering team Ampersand with floral arrangements from Hayford and Rhodes.
Anyone who's followed our blog or twitter feed for the last week or so might have spotted that we'd been offering guests the chance to win £100 in iTunes vouchers by picking the perfect Summer Setlist. As if that weren't enough, the winner's songs would form part of Wandering Hands' setlist for the evening and forever take their place alongside Wandering Hands classics like "Forget You", "I Saw Her Standing There" and "I Need a Dollar".
We received plenty of brilliant suggestions following the announcement of the competition but in the end it was Rebecca Hannawin who won out with her trio of Summery Suggestions which went a little something like this;
Two Door Cinema Club – Something Good Can Work
Cornershop – Brimful of Asha
Don Henley – Boys of Summer
Following a suspenseful envelope opening from Adam "Mr Entertainment" Sternberg, Wandering Hands launched into a Rebecca's song choices, quickly gathering a crowd of admiring fans who weren't shy about joining in on vocals.
