Recent Events: The Toots, Emma and Winter Jazz at the Holiday Inn

September 13, 2012

Following on from our recent Paralympic event at the Holiday Inn Stratford City, we’ve got pics of even more of our brilliant acts performing at the hotel during the closing ceremony for the Paralympics. With two separate spaces hosting guests from all over the world, we supplied a variety of musical acts to create the perfect atmosphere for the occasion.

Winter Jazz playing at the end of what some would decribe as SummerLong-time Sternberg Clarke favourites Winter Jazz are long-time Sternberg Clarke favourites for a reason... and that reason is that they reliably provide the sort of slinky, sophisticated background jazz that goes down so well at corporate events. Performing a set that flitted between Jazz standards through to Latin and Swing, the trio – lead by singer Kate – earned plenty of admirers during their set and cemented their place as long-time Sternberg Clarke favourites.

Emma and her band entertain guests The same goes for vocalist Emma who – backed by her ever capable band of talented musicians – took listeners on a musical trip that took in pop, soul, jazz and other such aural niceties all bound together by her alluring lady-voice. If you’re keen to see more of Emma or Kate, they have residencies at the Met Bar and Roast (respectively)... (You can see both of them in action in this here residency blog)... (No, thank you)

The Toots in full "function band formation" Function band The Toots are a many talented musical outfit able to play in numerous stylistic guises as they showed with not one, but two performances at the Holiday Inn. First up performing as a stripped back acoustic jazz band and then moving into a full blown party band set later in the evening. The acoustic set took in a variety of swinging jazz tinged covers featuring guitar, double bass, clarinet, drums and vocals. Later in the evening, the band switched vocalists for a set of funk and soul covers to get the crowd on their feet.
