We’re no strangers to providing Dance at corporate events, but for a recent event at Mansion House, we supplied something a little special. For Visit Britain’s World Travel Market Event, we provided dancers from the English National Ballet performing a selection of pieces for guests during a networking evening.
Performing in full costume on a purpose built stage in the centre of the historic venue (and offices of the Lord Mayor of London) the eight dancers took to the stage solo or in pairs to perform excerpts from famous ballets including The Dying Swan from Swan Lake (performed by Senior Principal Elena Glurdjidze) Puss in Boots from Sleeping Beauty (performed by Alison McWhinney and Shevelle Dynott) and Bluebird pas de deux (danced by Nancy Osbaldeston and Ken Saruhashi).
With Christmas around the corner, performances of the ever popular Nutcracker are already booking up for the festive period, so including a movement like Dance of the Mirlitons as part of your evening’s entertainment is a great way to bring a seasonal touch to any event. The performance by James Streeter and Lauretta Summerscales was just the thing to get guests in the festive spirit with a few valuable ‘shopping days’ to spare.
The English National Ballet are an act that surprisingly few events planners are aware can be booked for corporate events – able to work in a variety of different sizes and configurations, the ENB are a fantastic way to bring some culture and spectacle to an evening’s entertainment.
