What with all the great entertainment we provide at corporate events around London and the UK, it can be hard to keep up with all the pictures spilling out into the blog, so as a means to check in on the best performances of the last few weeks, we occasionally whip out one of these ‘Round Up’ posts. They’re good, here I’ll show you...
If there’s one constant in corporate event and wedding entertainment, it’s probably Rat Pack. While vintage fads come and go (as fads are wont to do) the swinging sounds of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr et al never seem to go out of fashion. Case in point, the popularity of our act Sinatra Sequins and Swing, a tribute to the legends of the Capitol Records Years featuring band leader Kevin Fitzsimmons and jazz vocalist and cabaret star Kitty La Roar backed by a full swing band. Kitty and Kevin brought a touch of glitz and glamour to the V&A for a recent corporate event.
Yet more vintage chic came courtesy of our Cigarette girls who were on hand at the Savoy for another high profile corporate function. The girls handed out shots from velvet lined serving trays wearing bespoke costumes with 40s style hair and makeup. Though they’re called ‘Cigarette Girls’ more often the girls hand out shots, party bags or canapés and can be costumed to suit a theme or colour scheme.
At the same event, we provided dance troupe Strictly Anonymous who had prepared a bespoke 1940s performance in keeping with the evening’s entertainment. Appearing to the sound of an air-raid siren the group performed to a backing track in the centre of the room after dinner. Dance shows are always a welcome addition to any event and provide a high energy after dinner act that’s great for audiences of all sizes.
