November 12, 2012
As we reach the end of 2012, it’s often a time for companies to look back and celebrate the achievements of the last 12 months – that means plenty of awards ceremonies all of which need entertainment. That can come in the form of Awards Hosts, After Dinner Acts or in the case of this recent event at the Royal Courts of Justice, Background Music.
Acoustic covers band Fables and Friends were on hand to perform during dinner at the awards ceremony. The band’s stripped back cover versions of popular tunes is perfect for background music during a corporate dinner – gentle enough to let people talk and enjoy themselves, but more upbeat than a standard instrumental ensemble like a Jazz Band or String Quartet. You can listen to sound clips of the band performing a cover of Gnarls Barkley’s ‘Crazy’ here.
Fables and Friends’ playful folk inspired interpretations of pop, rock and swing classics created a warm, relaxed atmosphere while guests ate. Their wide ranging repertoire and flexible line up allows Fables and Friends to vary their approach over the course of the evening, keeping things low key during drinks/dinner and raising the tempo later on for dancing if required. Featuring male and female vocals, guitar, bass and Cajon rather than full percussion, the band are particularly suited to venues with sound limits or events where noise levels are an issue.
There’s more info on Fables and Friends as well as sound clips and pictures on their act profile page. For more information on booking function bands for corporate events or weddings head over to our contact page and get in touch.
