By Tuesday Night we’ll be one step closer to knowing who The Next Big Thing in corporate event entertainment is, thanks to the first round of heats taking place at Cafe De Paris. But it’s not going to be easy to pick a winner from this year’s contenders in what is surely the strongest first round heat we’ve ever had in the competition.
Vocal harmony group The Penny Arcade Quartet, Alex The Mind Reader, Mad Scientist Magician Oliver Meech, Piano and Cello duo Y-Squared, comedy caberet singer Katie Clarke, energetic folk upstarts The Salts and vintage Jazz/Pop outfit The Bellinis will be slugging it out to appear in the next round. (You can findout more about the acts here.)
Adam Sternberg and the rest of the judges are going to do their best to separate the hopefuls based on their performances, but once again – the audience’s opinion is going to play a huge part thanks to an electronic voting system provided by Power Vote. If you want to have a say in who gets through to the next round of The Next Big Thing then be sure you’re at Cafe De Paris for the first heat.
There’s still time for acts to enter the competition – head over to the International Confex website and fill out the entry form for a chance to be involved in the next heat and maybe, just maybe, be a part of the Final at Excel London.
We’ll have a full write up of the event once the dust has settled, so stay tuned for more info!
