This Year's Next Big Thing Competition got off to a flying start with the first round of heats at Event Magazine's Christmas Party. The event, held at Jewel in Covent Garden, saw the launch of the competition which seeks to find the best new entertainment acts for Corporate Events. There's no better place for the Next Big Thing hopefuls to cut their teeth than in front of some of the Event Industry's biggest movers and shakers.
Judges included Liz Lockard from Haymarket Events, Lynden Buglar from BA, Christian Poole from Late Night London and of course, Adam "45th in the Event 100" Sternberg who brought his years of experience in Corporate Events to his role as a Gary Barlowe-esque Hunk of Judgment/Hyperbole-Vomiting Louis Walsh character (delete as appropriate.)
There was a wealth of talent on display with vocalists Kirsty Keogh and George Ide winning the hearts of the judges but in the end, comedian Steven Scaffardi and songstress Natalie Bunting sent the needle of the clapometer into a spin and earned themselves a place at the semi finals which will be held at International Confex in March.
Take a look at some pictures from the event over at Event Magazine.
