Musical Trios for Weddings - Wedding Wednesday

March 07, 2018

Sim Jones Trio

When it comes to booking music for a wedding, there are a whole host of options. From a harpist or string quartet to a function band or DJ, you can go in many different directions for your big day. If you’re not looking for something a little stronger in the sound than a soloist but not as many musicians as provided in a string quartet or function band, then booking a musical trio is an excellent idea. Here are just a few suggestions for you to explore.

The Popcorns

The Popcorns are a unique instrumental trio featuring banjo, double bass and sax who perform pop covers in a vintage jazz style. The acoustic nature of the ensemble means they are versatile and flexible but can also be amplified if necessary; if you’re planning on holding your wedding outside during the one week that we proudly call the British Summertime (fine, two weeks!), then this is the act for you. Providing popular hits that are sure to keep guests smiling throughout, The Popcorns are guaranteed to create a fun and lively atmosphere for your wedding day.

The Goldstone Singers

Providing a lot more glamour than you might ordinarily find in a musical trio, this excellent vocal group are sure to impress. Recognise them? That’s no surprise because The Goldstone Singers were most recently featured on the hit BBC show, Eurovision: You Decide! Although they were unlucky not to be picked as this year’s British Eurovision entry, they are available for weddings and are sure to astonish your guests on the day itself!

Juniper

If you’re looking for something slightly different on your wedding day, Juniper is the trio for you. Sophisticated, professional and experienced, this all female wind trio is the perfect musical accompaniment and will add a touch of sparkle and elegance to complete your wedding. With a wide ranging repertoire that includes beautiful works from Mozart through to Gershwin jazz and more contemporary songs, they really are a superb choice for any bride and groom.

Ze Trio

An acoustic trio with a difference – they have an accordion player in their ranks – the hugely enjoyable and eccentric group Ze Trio also feature a violin and guitar. Featuring a varied repertoire that includes tunes from the 1800s through to the present day, you could find yourself tapping along to a number by Muse and a minute later humming along to a melody by Beethoven, all performed in Ze Trio’s inimitable folk/klezmer infused style. Marvellous.

The Sim Jones Ensemble

The Sim Jones Ensemble is a musical act perfect for a whole host of moments during your wedding day. Playing all the great standards from the 20s, 30s & 40s, they also perform a mix of contemporary pop and rock in their own swinging vintage style. The group is available as a purely instrumental trio or with a featured vocalist, making them great for both background ambiance or for swinging the night away!
