Ah weddings, the coming together of people, people coming together to create something stronger, better... something with beat boxing and vocal harmonies and – oh... oh you thought we were talking about the couple? No no no; entertainment – it’s always about entertainment. That was especially true of this recent wedding at Somerset House.
We worked with vocal harmony/beatboxing outfit BeatVox, the inimitable Le Gateau Chocolat and the team at Fisher Productions to create a show stopping collaboration that capped off a stunning wedding at the iconic venue. Featuring some of the biggest names in the beatboxing community, BeatVox combine a capella vocal harmonies with vocal percussion to create an unbelievable performance that’s all the more amazing for featuring no backing tracks or looping – just voices.
The fivesome performed a mix of medleys and cover versions that showed their amazing versatility and skill before being joined by cabaret Diva Le Gateau Chocolat who performed a breathtaking version of Diamonds Are Forever backed by the group. Gateau’s luscious, velvety baritone provided an interesting contrast to BeatVox’s intricate harmonies and rhythms.

Earlier in the evening, background music came courtesy of vintage jazz connoisseurs The Blind Tigers who provided a Dixieland Jazz soundtrack to drinks and canapes.
