In Pictures: The Wild Tonics, Sonya and The Blind Tigers at the National Gallery

June 19, 2017

When it comes to luxurious London locations for a corporate event, they don’t come much better than the National Gallery. Located in the heart of London on Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery is about as central as you can get! The building is beautiful both inside and out, with the artwork on the walls providing a spectacular surrounding for any event.

Last week, we provided entertainment at the National Gallery to fit with a somewhat unique theme! Ordinarily, themes range from classic literary like Alice in Wonderland or Narnia to something a little more broad like a Steampunk inspired party. Our corporate client were happy to think outside the box however, ultimately going for a party that took its roots in the Terry Gilliam world of The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. It’s hardly a classic film, perhaps best known for being Heath Ledger’s last, but it certainly has its own look and we relished the opportunity to provide some imaginative entertainment.

We provided jazz duo The Blind Tigers to help set the mood for the evening with some light background music. They really are a wonderful act and no stranger to the Gallery, having actually helped to open the venue to events back in 2015! If you’re looking to hire a band for background music, then you won’t find many in London who do it better!

Tying in with the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus theme, we dressed up the excellent Sonya into a themed costume. She provided caricatures throughout the night, which those in attendance were absolutely delighted with! As the photos show, a strolling act like a caricaturist is a clever way to get guests talking and sharing their favourite moments from your event.

The final act of the evening was one that provided not only a brilliant sound but also some spellbinding pictures! Close harmony trio The Wild Tonics have been very popular since we added them to our roster last year and it’s easy to see why. Their songs sounded fab from the confines of the National Gallery rooms and we think that their performance gave guests a lot to savour. A truly exceptional evening and we can’t wait to return later in the year.
