In Pictures: Masquerade Ball @ Freemasons’ Hall

December 07, 2017

When it comes to astonishing central London venues, many are to be found in museums or art galleries like the British Museum, National Gallery or The Wallace Collection. All fine venues, but as one might expect, certain forms of entertainment are a little harder to display in such an environment. Step forward Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden; a stunning building that we repurposed into a masquerade extravaganza last week!

Upon arrival, guest were lucky enough to be greeted by a fire performer in full costume. Drawing intrigued glances form those walking by – and unlucky enough not to be allowed entry – it certainly raised eyebrows for what sort of entertainment might be inside. We are happy to say that it did not disappoint!

Isabella the Harpist strummed the strings of her harp beautifully for guests, whilst many seemed truly impressed by some of the props on display; a Venetian statue had been moved into place specially for the event. Many were even more surprised to find that this was no ordinary statue, but a living statue that occasionally moved throughout the evening. A great photo opportunity for those who wanted to share photos of the party on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!

As guests crowded into the main area of the event, they were to be stunned by more entertainment from the likes of Luna and Siren. The former is a tremendous acrobatic act involving a hoop, upon which a talented performer produces an astonishing routine. Meanwhile Siren is an electric string quartet comprised of four of the most talented musicians in London. Understandably the crowd absolutely loved the experience and were keen for more.

   More? More?!

Then we shall give them more! Leaving the main area, guests would find themselves entertained by yet more of our acts. Whilst Isabella and the living statue remained in place, attendees could also find themselves dwarfed by a costumed stilt walker or perhaps decide to take a bespoke Ventian-style photo at the Staged Photography photo booth. A masquerade ball has never been so enjoyable!

We definitely think this was right up there as one of the best events we’ve been involved with this year for a number of reasons; the venue is excellent for a large party, the theme is well-known but not often chosen (which adds to our excitement!) and everybody involved in the evening, from the entertainment to the production and guests had an absolute blast. We can’t wait return to Freemasons’ Hall and certainly hope that it’s sooner rather than later.
