The QEII Centre is a venue in the heart of Westminster. A stone’s throw from the Houses of Parliament, you couldn’t ask for a better located venue. With a multitude of events spaces for clients to choose from, the possibilities are endless and we have had acts performing outside on the grass as well as playing tennis indoors. It is only your imagination that may limit the possibilities on offer when booking an event at the QEII Centre.
Guests were the great and the good from the events industry and beyond. This was a spectacular showcase that would show off exactly what was possible within the walls of the QEII, with dinner and dancing thrown in for good measure! Receiving the brief, we felt it was obvious which forms of entertainment would complete the night and having enjoyed the wonderful evening, we are happy to say that we were absolutely right (phew!)
One of the first specifications laid out for this event (or ‘party’if you’d like to understand what the atmosphere was like among guests…hey, it’s not every day that you’ll be given world class food and entertainment!) was that one act would have to perform ‘in the round’. As anybody who has seen an immersive show at the Globe Theatre may know, this generally refers to entertainment being performed in the centre of the room rather than off to one side. It’s an excellent idea as it really fuels engagement with the performance.
This was the QEII Centre and if you remember what we said earlier, the limit is your imagination. In this case, in the round referred to a literal revolving stage in the centre of the room. A platform that would ensure that everybody in the venue would have the best view. Amazing! We put the idea to top string trio Ember and they were more than happy to oblige, providing a blistering performance that had everybody stunned. It’s not often that one gets to enjoy dinner from Marcus Wareing at the same time as witnessing world class entertainment. Welcome to London!
The event wasn’t anywhere close to being over though, with a little networking still to be done. As regular event goers may know, networking isn’t really all that fun when you’re faced with a lack of ambient entertainment, so we provided the much-loved Organic Jam for the evening, both before and after dinner. With Carlo on the decks and Chez on saxophone, the spirit of café-del-mar was alive and kicking in London.
This really was a tremendous event and showcases exactly what is possible with your events in the capital. If you’re looking to book entertainment for a party, wedding or product launch, please feel free to get in touch using the contact details below.
