In Pictures: Contemporary Dance @ TATE Britain

November 14, 2017

There are a number of museums and art galleries around London that are suitable for events with some being perfect for cosy, intimate drinks receptions, while others are a great option for larger corporate events. Both the TATE Modern and TATE Britain offer vast spaces, which can put on shows like you would never even believe and luckily enough for us, we were invited to book dancers for an event last week. Without further ado, here are the photos!

As you can see, the room in which the dance took place was extremely long and much of the area was unable to accommodate entertainment with a piece from the gallery’s new exhibition rightfully taking up the majority of the area. The dance itself was to celebrate the work of the artist Rachel Whiteread, whose exclusive exhibition will open at the TATE from 24th November. Covering three decades of work, it’s certainly set to be a must-see!

Our dancers performed around the art for very special guests and set to beautiful music; it was a true sight to see. The dancers are exceptionally talented having trained at some of the UK’s top dance schools, creating shapes and moving to the rhythm in a truly dynamic manner. Making full use of the area available to them, the choreography was certainly in keeping with the art and it was clear that all guests found the show particularly enjoyable, noting that they were ‘mesmerising and evocative’ in the same way as Rachael Whiteread’s work.

We cannot wait to return to the TATE Britain for many more events! With their ever-changing line-up of exhibitions, it’s one of the finest art galleries to explore in all of London and a great choice for parties and events.
