Great British Bake Off Party Theme Ideas

August 28, 2018

It’s back! As if you didn’t know, it’s just a few hours until the return of The Best Show On Television. Yes, it’s the Great British Bake Off. Hooray! So it’s time to dig out the Union Jack bunting, take another visit to the cake aisle in Sainsburys and relax in the comforting glow of Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith lightly critiquing soggy bottoms and questionable flavours. In our excitement, here are a few acts you could hire were you wanting to host a Bake Off inspired party for the big finale in a few months time. Three, two, one... BAKE!

Marily Monroe lookalike

We know, we know. “What on earth does Marilyn Monroe have to do with baking?” Well, since you asked, she doesn’t really. But who better to have jumping out of an over-sized Victoria Sponge for someone’s birthday? It’s always a fab photo opportunity (Marilyn is seen here with Elle & the Pocket Belles) and is sure to surprise the birthday boy or girl. Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry (we still love you, Mary!) would be most impressed with the structure and Marilyn would be a delightful cherry on top to any private event.

Bolli Canapé Darling

If you need someone to serve canapés and want it to be as close to the Great British Bake Off as possible, you may not want someone in the cake, you may want them to be the cake. Thank goodness then for the existence of the Bolli Canapé Darlings, an act who specialise in providing living tables to entertain guests. Be it a good old British bake or perhaps a Florentine from France (though many think they’re originally from Italy - nope), your guests will adore this Great British slice of eccentricity.

Wandering Flans

We are yet to ask whether Wandering Hands would be willing to change their name for a Great British Bake Off-inspired event, but we’re fairly confident that with a bit of gentle persuasion, their musical repertoire can take on a life of its own. Thus, we can not only change them name to Wandering Flans, but why not tap your feet along to classic hits including Bake Me Up by Avicii and...err... Somebody That I Used to Dough by Gotye. You get the idea. Noel Fielding will love it.

The Puddings

Perhaps a bit too Christmassy for August, but we all have Christmas parties to plan and there's always a Great British Bake Off Christmas special of sorts (even if it is just this year's winner labouring through a stollen). The Puddings are an engaging and jolly way to celebrate the festive season, available to wander as well as roller skate around your clients. Who wouldn't want to see that? A perfect accompaniment to your Christmas feast.

Noel Fielding, Sandi Toksvig, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith

If it’s authenticity you’re after, why not hire all four of the main team that make the Great British Bake Off such a draw? It may be a little more costly than simply having your Dad host proceedings but you will get to brag to all your friends that you and Sandi are totally BFFs. Also available are a number of previous Bake Off contestants. Be it a workshop or wanting to hear them speak, this is the luxury way to celebrate the return of The Great British Bake Off to Channel 4.
