Carnival Horse Costume at Chinawhite at the Polo Event

Long considered the highlight of the British Social Season; Cartier’s International Chinawhite Polo Event at the Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great Park was host to some eye-catching entertainment from Sternberg Clarke. This year there was extra cause for celebration as the event celebrated the 100th birthday of the Hurlingham Polo Association’s Coronation Cup. Featuring everything from Music to outrageous strolling circus performers, the entertainment on show was a great way to add to the carnival atmosphere at the event.

Providing a scintillating soundtrack to the event were a trio of our favourite purveyors of chilled out ambient tunes; our Organic Jam line-up featured DJ Carlo accompanied by two percussionists – Lindsay and Jaz who improvised along to Carlo’s backing with a flurry of dexterous taps and thwacks to an assortment of drums, bongos, and chimes.

We discussed a few of our favourite picks for outdoor summer entertainment last week and featured the Birds of Paradise Stiltwalkers – Chinawhite turned out to be the perfect event for these lavish strolling performers. Decked out in vibrant tropical-bird themed costumes, our stilt walkers swanned around the event providing an exotic talking point for guests who had no shortage of them.

But the real star of the show was our giant wandering Carnival Horse - A life-sized horse decked out with a fiery maine and an explosion of flame like feathers for a tail. Operated by a masked man who weaved in and out of guests; our breathtaking carnival horse provided the perfect link between the South American street party theme and the real business of actual horses and polo.
