Five 'Hidden Gem' Central London Venues for your Next Event

October 13, 2016

You might be aware of various popular central London venues including the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, the National Gallery and many more. But there are a lot of venues you might not be aware of that would be perfect for your next party. And the best bit? You can still hire entertainment for the event from Sternberg Clarke because we’re accredited at all these wonderful hotspots!

The Fleming Collection

Situated in the heart of Mayfair, just down the road from the Royal College of Art, The Fleming Collection offers a unique backdrop to a variety of events from daytime conferences to champagne receptions and intimate, exclusive private dinners. Housing a large collection of Scottish art, there are regular exhibitions as well as a permanent collection for guests to enjoy. An ideal venue if you’re looking for something in central London that many may not be aware of, The Fleming Collection is sure to impress.

Serpentine Gallery

The Serpentine Gallery is one of Britain’s most loved galleries for modern and contemporary art, set in the unparalleled location of Kensington Gardens. The gallery, which is available all year round, consists of four beautifully proportioned rooms amongst breathtaking surroundings. In the summer months, one can also hire the Serpentine Pavilion, which is available for three months of the year only and designed by a different architect each year! This location in particular is perfect for a band like Wandering Hands to play into the long summer evenings.

Middle Temple

Situated in the heart of central London, amongst beautiful and secluded surroundings and only a stone’s throw from Blackfriars tube station, Middle Temple is a historic venue and one of the finest Elizabethan halls in the country. Built in 1570, more than 100 feet long and 41 feet wide, it is hugely impressive with its stunning double hammer ceiling. An impressive setting for receptions, dinners, dancers, weddings and more, this is a venue that you have to see to believe.

Museum of the Order of St. John

Two medieval sites that tell the story of the Venerable Order of Saint John, this museum is a true hidden gem situated in Clerkenwell. You will be able to enjoy evocative rooms dating from the twelfth to the sixteenth centuries, which combine with sleek modern spaces to produce an extraordinarily special venue. With a multitude of areas to hire and fully licensed for weddings, book the Museum of the Order of St. John to truly wow your guests.

The Design Museum

We could hardly complete this list without including the incredible Design Museum, which even we haven’t yet had time to look around! You see, the original Design Museum was a spectacular venue in itself, but the new one doesn’t open until next month, 24th November 2016, in its new location on High Street Kensington. With three times more space than its previous venue and obviously known for its stunning design, guests can expect an event to take their breath away!
