Friday again, it comes around so quickly doesn't it? One minute you're featuring Guilty Pleasures on a Friday, next thing you know, it's already next Friday and you have to pick another act to feature. And who to pick? Who is worthy of the Featured Act Friday treatment this week? I mean, they're all worthy of it but... why, it's like picking a favourite child. I can't... I won't. No. OK. OK, I pick Judge the Poet. Judge, it's judge... are you happy now? Are you?
Judge the Poet is a truly unique concept for strolling entertainment; great if you're looking for a change of pace from a magician or a caricaturist - not that there's anything wrong with magicians and caricaturists, oh now I feel guilty.
Judge wanders round your event and at the request of your guests, will turn any subject word or concept into a poem on the spot. The very nature of Judge's act makes every event he performs at a one-off - even his Featured Act Q&A is... here, take a look...
Hello! Who are you?
Don’t you know it…?
I’m Judge The Poet.
How would you describe your act in three words?
Unique. Spontaneous. Entertaining.
What sets you apart from similar acts?
Sorry to boast or brag, but here is a fact,
There really is not another similar act…
I’ve looked here and there, up and down:
I’m the only Spontaneous Poet in town!
When was your first gig and how old were you?
Very soon after I was able to walk,
My family knew that I liked to talk.
From then it was only a bit of time
Until I learned to do it all in rhyme. What was your first event for Sternberg Clarke?
There’s been so many that I can’t quite recall.
It was somewhere big… no, somewhere small.
It was somewhere near. Or was it far away?
I am sure that it was awfully good, anyway
What has been your favourite Sternberg Clarke Event (and why)?
The London Aquarium is quite a sight,
Like being under the ocean. And, at night,
With the fish and water splashing around,
It is a really soothing and poetic sound…
What would be your dream event?
What would be your nightmare event?
What would be the greatest canapé you’ve ever eaten?
Something with olives or pineapple,
Turns a reception into a chapel…
Who would you most like to perform with?
That bloke from the telly
Or Percy Byshhe Shelley.
What do you do the rest of the time (when you’re not doing your act)?
Walking, not talking.
Climbing, not rhyming.
A movie is groovy.
A book’s worth a look.
(Let me know when you’ve had enough…)
