Fab Musical Duos for Your Event - Part I

September 20, 2016

Two Men & a Box

If there’s one thing that many of our clients would agree on, it’s that they love music and believe it will enhance their event. The vast majority of our enquiries are from event planners looking for ‘music to hire’ or ‘bands to hire’ or even ‘anything with an accordion?’ (yes!) For small corporate events and parties, it doesn’t make sense to go book a large ensemble, so across two blog posts we’re going to be highlight every single one of our musical duos on the site, just for you. Aren’t we nice?!

The Flying Hits Parade

A combination of guitar and double bass, The Flying Hits Parade bring a vintage feel to modern and classic hits. Their version of George Ezra’s Budapest will leave you reeling with their versatility chief among the reasons that we recommend them so highly. Equally at home at a wedding or in the corner of a hip club in the East End, The Flying Hits Parade is an act not to be missed.

What do you get when you combine guitar with smooth vocals that call to mind the incredible voice of Cee-Lo Green? If you’re answer is Organix then congratulations, you’re absolutely right! Covering a repertoire that ranges from 70s classics to current top 40 hits, the soulful tones of Organix are sure to impress at your event no matter if they’re performing background music or a more upbeat set.

Southern Union

Southern Union are a London-based music duo who play classic songs from the great American songbook as well as putting their own country spin on current chart hits. With an authentic look and sound, they are a fantastic addition to any theme with Americana at its heart and can cover jukebox classics like Dolly Parton right through to the latest hits from Beyoncé and Mumford and Sons, all with a unique Southern twang.

The Ayoub Sisters

Able to play on either cello and violin or violin and piano (or a mixture of the two!), The Ayoub Sisters are taking London by storm with the virtuoso playing of their instruments. Having played at the Royal Albert Hall, which was broadcast live on Classic FM and also worked with Mark Ronson to rerecord his hit Uptown Funk, you can rest assured that you’re hiring a uniquely talented duo who will wow at your event.

Dapper Dudes

A jazz and swing duo that combines the baritone sound of the double bass with the twinkling keys of the piano, Dapper Dudes perform tunes from the 20s through to the 60s, with their own unique spin on each and every track. This charismatic pair provide a fresh swinging sound no matter the occasion and are sure to engage and entertain at your party or event.

Freight Train

Sometimes it isn’t live music that you’re after but the infectious beats of a top DJ instead. But why not make it two? Freight Train are a superbly talented DJ duo who will have your dancefloor filled throughout the night as they work the decks. Able to play a variety of genres, these two will entertain audiences of all ages and as you might be able to tell from the photos, are cool as hell.

Two Men and a Box

An acoustic duo made up of guitar, cajon and vocals, Two Men and a Box perform an eclectic mix of music from the 50s to the present day. By complementing their instruments with subtle live electronics including samples and loop pedals, they can produce a far bigger sound than you might expect! Perfect for a range of parties, weddings and corporate events.

A unique Brazilian/bossa background music ensemble made up of vocals, cello and a guitar. Sararosa have experience in jazz as well as samba and are perfect for both background music and providing a more upbeat live show. Being classically trained, the duo is also able to play a number of well-known classical tunes and would be sure to impress at your corporate or private event.
