Easter Entertainment to Enjoy from Home

March 30, 2020

Easter is a time for families to come together. Unfortunately this year it looks like that might not be possible. If you are wanting to celebrate Easter whilst in lockdown then look no further than these fun entertainment ideas that you can do from home!

Easter Egg Hunt

It’s an oldie but it’s a goodie. If you were lucky enough to do an Easter egg hunt as a child then you’ll know just how fun this is. Whilst batting off questions of how the Easter bunny managed to break quarantine (“It doesn’t apply to animals…”), children and adults alike can enjoy a hunt about the garden. No garden? No problem! Simply hide a few Easter eggs around your flat or house instead.

Painting Eggs

Hugely popular in different countries around the world, painting eggs hasn’t really caught on in the UK. That might be about to change this Easter. Grab an egg, grab a brush and get painting. The whole family can get involved and at the end of the fun you can display your creations for all to enjoy. Or you can eat them. Your choice.

Egg Tapping

In Greece, everybody paints an egg red and then taps their egg against anybody else’s in a huge communal activity that brings everybody together. If you live in a home of at least four people, why not get everyone involved in what should be a fab activity? Get painting and then get fighting! If your egg breaks, you lose! Whose egg will be strongest? A chocolate egg can of course be the prize for the winner.

Bake a Simnel Cake

A Simnel cake is a light fruitcake that can be enjoyed throughout the Easter period. Notable because of its circle of marzipan ‘eggs’ on the top, you can even decorate yours with tiny chicks if you so wish. Simnel cakes have been baked since medieval times. Will you be continuing the tradition this year?

Peek-a-boo Chick

This is one for the little ones! Website One Little Project has all the details on making one of these adorable peek-a-boo creations. Grab some card, scissors and a clothes peg and you’re pretty much there. They don’t take much time but are sure to elicit a few smiles. A lovely idea and one that doesn’t take too long either!

We hope that you enjoy some of these Easter entertainment ideas whilst in lockdown. If you are looking to book entertainment for a corporate event or private event later in the year, please feel free to get in touch using the contact details below.
