Recent Events: Brazilian Entertainment at the Riverbank Park Plaza

March 08, 2013

What is it with feathers and revealing costumes lately? First it was Vegas themed showgirls, now it’s samba dancers, stilt walkers and more at the Park Plaza Riverbank. This Brazilian themed corporate event gave us a chance to show off some of our most eye catching entertainment to suit the theme.

One of the benefits of our Brazilian Carnival Girls is that they surreptitiously dust tables with their tail feathers as they walk byGuests were greeted at the venue by our Carnival Girls who, clad in outlandish and colourful Brazilian costumes, performed ambient dance routines during the drinks reception to a musical backing from our DJ and percussion duo

Though they look like flamingos, the similarity doesn't extend to standing on one stiltThe event gave us another chance to show off our Bird of Paradise stilts too – these flamingo themed stilt walkers are great for creating a carnival atmosphere at an event and were a fitting way to welcome guests into the venue.

You never see a sad looking Samba dancer, do you... There's a lesson there. Following the drinks reception, guests were ushered into the main room of the venue for a show from our Samba dancers who, thanks to their even more dazzling costumes officially made this the ‘featheriest’ event Sternberg Clarke have ever been involved with. Backed by an authentic Brazilian Samba band or ‘Bateria’, the dancers’ energetic performance was high on spectacle and a perfect focal point for the evening.

It really takes something special to make those drummer's shirts fade into the background. With the next Olympics taking place in Brazil, we’re no doubt going to see a few Brazilian themed events in the next few years and this event was a timely reminder of how entertainment can be used to reinforce a theme and create atmosphere.

We tried to get these guys to wear feathery head dresses, they weren't into it.

You can see more pictures from the event on out Facebook Page - and why not 'like' us while you're there?
