Booth Street West, Fire Juggling, LED Show and Optioscopes at Highclere Castle

July 12, 2012

Fans of ITV’s wildly successful period drama Downton Abbey might recognise the venue in this recent event – Highclere Castle stands in as the titular estate but has also played home to a host of iconic TV shows and Films over the years, including Jeeves and Wooster, Eyes Wide Shut and The Four Feathers.

But rather than aristocratic families and upstairs-downstairs class tensions, the venue played host to a different kind of entertainment over the weekend as Highclere Castle welcomed guests for a Corporate Event.

First up, Jazz band Booth Street West were there to provide background music as guests arrived to enjoy drinks at the start of the evening. In another room, guests were treated to classical background music from our cellist who stole furtive glances at a member of the catering staff knowing full well that the pair could never be together because of society or something like that.

Once the sun went down, guests were lead outside for a Mini Cirque show featuring a stunning array of high impact dance and juggling acts perfectly suited to a warm evening. Acts included a mesmerising display from our troupe of ‘Optioscopes’ or Light Dancers who used their colourful, illuminated costumes to create a flowing light show set to a backing track.

Using state of the art L.E.D. technology, our Light Juggling glow show took to the stage for a performance that combined dance, juggling and Pixel-Poi to make arresting graphical displays in the night sky. Finally, our quintet of pyromaniacs put on a heart-stopping flame show that mix fire juggling, dance and fire breathing to astonishing effect.
