Beatboxing A Capella Group Beatvox Win the Final of Beat the Brief

October 03, 2014

A capella beatboxing group Beatvox took the lion's share of the votes as they ran out winners at the grand finale of event industry talent competition Beat the Brief during the Event Awards at London's Troxy theatre on 2 October.

The one of a kind talent competition – searching for the most exciting and versatile acts within the events industry – saw four acts battle it out for the honour of winning the inaugural final in front of several hundred event professionals at the annual Event Awards run by leading industry publication Event Magazine.

Battling it out with with Beatvox on the night were; stand up comedian Chris Turner, pirate musical comedy duo Jollyboat, and comedy impressionist Mikey Bharj.

Each of the four acts competing made their way to the final via progressing through the previous three heats of the competition – packed full of a diverse range of wildly talented performers ranging from musicians to magicians and almost everything inbetween.

With this level of competition, it was never going to be an easy choice.

Of course, there could only be one winner, and so guests were invited to tweet using a variety of hashtags who they thought was deserving of the honour of being crowned the champion of the very first event industry focused talent competition.

And hitting a peak of #6 trending worldwide, twitter went wild with acclaim for the a capella beatboxing group:

With their win, Beatvox have proven that they are not only one of the most exciting acts in event entertainment, but also one that take on a client brief and push it to its creative boundaries to inspire an audience.

Whilst not all acts could be declared winners of the competition, every one that participated made the road to the final a hugely entertaining rollercoaster ride of truly world class performances that won't be forgotten any time soon.

A huge thanks to every act for putting on such incredible displays of talent and creativity throughout the whole competition and thank you to all of those who attended.
