When you think awards ceremony entertainment, chances are you think of awards show hosts, maybe bands and musical stings. What might not spring to mind is a man performing a hand balance act on poles that he stacks on top of each other as he ascends said stacked poles. But a man performing a hand balance act on poles that he stacks on top of each other as he ascends said stacked poles was exactly what we provided for the C&IT Awards that took place last week at The Grand Connaught Rooms, courtesy of AcroFelipe. (And if that did spring to mind, you should have applied for that job we had going – it’s gone now, sorry.)
Open to all companies planning events in the UK and Ireland, The Conference & Incentive Travel Excellence Awards aim to recognise and celebrate companies for the creation, planning, production and management of innovative and successful events within B2B sectors. Which is to say, these guys have seen some event entertainment in their time and they aren’t going to be impressed by just anything.
Luckily, Felipe was on form as usual – treating guests to a breathtaking modern circus show that displayed his trademark mix of strength, grace and agility. AcroFelipe’s hand balancing act has proved hugely popular as an after dinner performance in the last year, offering a high energy show that really gets guests talking. The act also works especially well at awards ceremonies, either as a break between segments or a way of ending the awards section of the evening.
Take a look at a video from the event here.
