String and Percussion Ensemble

Urban Soul Orchestra corporate Events Background Music

Established in 1993, The Urban Soul Orchestra is a contemporary and versatile string ensemble with a twist. By introducing percussion and bass to the well-established format of the traditional string quartet, they have created their own unique blend of strings, beats and bass lines. Their soulful and funky arrangements of lush strings and rhythms combine to create a fresh, modern and sophisticated sound.

Performed by top class musicians, the ensemble offer a range of line-ups:

6-piece Acoustic Ensemble (string quartet with percussion and bass for background music)

Chill Out Set (string quartet to professionally produced chill-out backing track for background music)

7 Piece “Little Big Band” (strings, vocalists and professional backing track)

DJ Set (Dj playing house and Latin grooves featuring live percussion, strings, vocalist, sax, and DJ)

11 Piece “Big Band” for after-dinner entertainment (guitar, bass, drums and keyboards) featuring strings, vocalists, horn section and dancers if required).
