Nina Conti, daughter of actors Tom Conti and Kara Wilson is a comedy ventriloquist who performs with her sidekick puppets “Monk” (a depressed monkey) or “Gran” (her delusional Scottish Granny).
In 2002, she won the BBC New Comedy Awards, came second in the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year and came third in Laughing Horse New Act of The Year competitions and in 2008 she went on to win The Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She is a regular headliner at London comedy venues and has become a firm favourite on the corporate after dinner cabaret circuit.
Take all the preconceived notions you have about ventriloquists and throw them away, because Nina Conti and her monkey blew us all away."
