James Brown is a journalist, author, radio host and entrepreneur who has been at the forefront of the media industry for over twenty-five years. A passionate conference speaker, he is the owner of the Sabotage brand responsible for both the Sabotage Times. a culture website, and the Sabotage Agency, a content provider for numerous brands, James is a trusted professional who is sure to impress.
James began his journalism career working for publications including NME. In 1994 he broke the mould in the industry by launching LOADED, an early pioneer of the ‘lads mag’ genre, which was described by James as being ‘the most influential magazine of the last ten years’ in 1997 before he was tapped to launch the UK version of GQ. His work for the publication included creating the annual ‘Man of the Year’ awards and hiring then-unknown chef Jamie Oliver to write the food column.
Moving on from merely editing magazines, James then launched his own company, I Feel Good, and acquired titles including Viz and Fortean Times. He sold the brand for £5.1 million in 2003 and a number of editing jobs followed before his current work in television and radio where he is a regular contributor on TalkSport. He co-hosts The Late Tackle with comedian Andy Dawson and has appeared as a guest panellist on digital channel Dave. He also recently published a book, Above Head Height: A Five-a-Side Life, to positive reviews.
