Trad Folk/Irish Band

Cider with Rosie

Cider with Rosie are a high-energy instrumental folk trio who began playing together in London in 2011. Galvanised by their shared love of traditional repertoire they soon began composing their own modern take on the music of the British Isles and Ireland and combined it with influences from jazz, rock, classical and Balkan styles to produce something truly unique: a new approach praised by audiences and critics for its powerful melodies, delicate and enticing arrangements, infectious rhythms and virtuosic playing.

Since their formation, Cider with Rosie have performed at all the major folk festivals in the country, appeared a few times on BBC Radio 3, produced two studio albums and collaborated with some of the genre’s finest performers. Their work for private functions has seen them playing for everything from wedding ceremonies to Cheltenham Races.

As well as their own original music the band have a vast repertoire of trad tunes from the Anglo-Celtic Isles, Central and Eastern Europe, and also play a number of klezmer and gypsy jazz tunes.
